Discover the unique, lively, artistic and rich history of New York City in intimate walking tours with licensed NYC guide Donna Marie Nowak!  Donna is an author, cartoonist, a licensed guide and a resident of New York City for over fifteen years.  Delve into this treasure trove of tales about one of the greatest cities in the world!  We focus on the West Side of Manhattan (the Best Side)!

Tours run 2  to 2 1/2 hours.  We also have hand-crafted a 7-hour tour highlighting all the iconic sites of midtown with a bonus visit to Little Italy, Chinatown and Lower Manhattan, a phenomenal tour to take around the holidays (or any time).  If you are a family or group wanting a private tour, this is a perfect tour to take, although all walking tours are intimate and individuals are never packed into a large herd.  See MIDTOWN MARVELS below for special rates.

Greenwich Village - Little Bohemia

From Washington Square Arch, travel the narrow twisting streets of the West Village into the former world of Henry James, Ruth (My Sister Eileen) McKenney, Edward Albee and Edna St. Vincent Millay, to name but a few.

ear tales of colorful Village characters like Sonia the Cigarette Girl, Tiny Tim, and Doris the Dope in the avant garde days of tea rooms, speakeasies, theatrical boarding houses and artists' garrets!

isit the sites of:
  • The Bon Soire, a jumpin' joint where superstars were born;
  • Minetta Lane, once known as "Little Africa";
  • Stonewall Inn where drag queens rioted...only doors away from the Lion's Head where Jessica Lange once waitressed;
  • The Fat Black Pussycat Theatre, hangout of beat poets and hep cats;
  • Sheridan Square, the magnet that attracted loose screws;

iscover the eccentric and fascinating histories of some of the most architecturally splendid buildings in Manhattan.  Begin at Columbus Circle and see why the West Side attracts so many movie stars with its character, beauty and tremendous culture!

Midtown Marvels or Midtown Marvels with Little Italy, Chinatown and Lower Manhattan!

ee Times Square and hear of its honky tonk past, a world of brothels, horse carriages and bright lights and visit some of the key iconic highlights of midtown Manhattan, the sites that are symbols of the city.  We show you classic highlights of NYC (and then some some) including the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, Grand Central Station, Carnegie Hall, the Russian Tea Room, Central Park, etc. If you have children, tour will include kid-friendly hot spots like FAO Schwartz, American Girl Store, the giant ferris wheel at Toys 'R Us, and the M&M Store, along with the regular sites, to keep the little ones happy. Around the holidays, we will see all the iconic store windows, the Great Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, the giant snowflake at Tiffany's and the city in all its festive glory.  You can do this as a 2 1/2-hour tour which includes the sites above or also do a private, 7-hour tour which also includes Little Italy, Chinatown and Lower Manhattan.  Our 7-hour tours are comprehensive without being debilitating and will really help you get oriented to the city.  On the private, 7-hour tour we head down to Little Italy for delicious, authentic and reasonably-priced Italian food with a stroll through Chinatown to follow (price for food and refreshments not included in tour).  We also tour Lower Manhattan and Wall Street and see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island by ferry.  See below for special rates for the 7-hour tour.

Tour runs 7 hours for the private tour which includes Little Italy, Chinatown and Lower Manhattan and 2 1/2 hours for the tour that includes Midtown Marvels only

What is the price of the tour? 


For the Greenwich Village tour, a modified Midtown tour, and Upper West Side tour, the price is $25 per person (please always check website for discount coupons!)   

What about seven hour tours?

As stated above, we will also do a seven-hour tour which would show you classic highlights of NYC (and then some some) including the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, Grand Central Station, Carnegie Hall, the Russian Tea Room, Central Park, etc.  This will be a comprehensive tour without being debilitating.  You can see and enjoy the city without needing a vacation from the vacation!  If you have children, tour will include kid-friendly hot spots like FAO Schwartz, American Girl Store, the giant ferris wheel at Toys 'R Us, and the M&M Store, along with the regular sites, to keep the little ones happy.  It's a dynamic tour to take around the holidays when we see all the iconic and dazzling store windows, many of them animated, and festive Christmas decorations, including the Great Tree at Rockefeller Center and the giant snowflake at Tiffany's.  As a bonus, we go to Little Italy for authentic Italian food (or to an alternate restaurant) and a stroll through Chinatown (food and beverages not included in price of tour).  We also tour Lower Manhattan and ride the Staten Island ferry!  We will also pick you up at your hotel, if you so desire. 

Rates for these private, personal tours for your family or small group of up to 10 people will be:

$399 for your entire group.

For groups exceeding 10 people, please inquire.   

What kind of payment is accepted?


Cash is accepted at the start of the tour, except for the 7-hour tour.  For 7-hour tours, a deposit of half is required in advance. 


Is tipping required?


Tipping is completely voluntary.  Tour guides are in a service industry, so tips are not required, but, should you wish to do so, your tips are always greatly appreciated.

What is the cancellation policy?


We would greatly appreciate 24 hours notice.  If more notice is possible, even better!  The same consideration will be given from our end.


Tours take place in rain or shine, but not in severe thunderstorms, monsoons, earthquakes, or blizzards!  Always wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water in the heat!
   Please try to book in advance because tours fill up quickly.  For special group tours outside of the given time frame, please inquire.  Thank you.
